Island Cemetery, 1840

Located on a small peninsula of high ground behind the Community Church of Harrisville and Chesham, the cemetery is the burying ground of many Harris family members, including Bethuel and Deborah Harris, and seven of their ten children. Other tombstones bear the names of old Harrisville immigrant families. Stones with earlier markings indicate re-interments from private burying grounds.
